5 euros and a screwdriver have my biggest problem in gaming

Your graphics card is terribly loud if your challenging games are sliding? Mango author Benedict Schliemann had this annoying problem and has now made his graphics card clean. And that has been worthwhile in retrospect.

Anyone who has no desire to invest thousands of euros in a new graphics card, which slides as well as emergencies on an older graphics card.

But one thing has done me the last few weeks really crazy: forever, if I play a more sophisticated game, then my built graphics card begins to make a terrible noise. The fans turn strongly and easily reach 3000 turns.

Some know that from their PlayStation 4, which can also be very loud. And thats really annoying, if you want to gamble, but next to a whole time of the PC or the console sound like a plane. Against a loud PS4 you can also do a lot, such as the console cleans once.

This has been my plan: Since the sounds went to my nerves, I invested in new thermal grease for around 5 euros and also snapped my screwdriver set. My goal was to clean the graphics card once thoroughly and see if the effort is worthwhile.

In the following section, I explain to you as I agreed and whether the effort and the investment of 5 euros really paid out.

The replaces the thermal grease on the graphics card takes about 30 minutes

Ive approached:

First, I have expanded my graphics card from my desktop PC. Then I removed the four screws on the top of the graphics card. Now I could solve the board from the radiator. Here I had to take care of hellish, because the cooler is attached to the board with a small cable.

Now I could remove the thermal grease on the graphics chip and on the cooling blades. I used cotton swabs.

Then I was able to apply the new thermal paste. There is no real difference to a processor here. The thermal paste is applied similar to the graphics card, and you should rather take less than more.

After that I have reassembled the graphics card, the cooling system set to the graphics card and then tighten the screws. I had to be careful with the cable again.

Has the work worth it? Yes, the effort has paid off to swap the thermal paste on the graphics card.

High load now reaches the graphics card instead of 78 degrees 73 to 74 degrees. The fans of the graphics card rotate with a maximum of 2500 revolutions and no longer with around 3000 turns. The volume level has fallen a whole piece.

If you compare the pictures I made with the small tool Monitor, then you can clearly see that the numbers under load have significantly improved.

While the graphics card has previously reached under load just under the 3000 revolutions (2912 in the picture), it is now a maximum of 2543 revolutions. This difference is clearly perceptible when gambling.

It can be worthwhile to clean a graphics card

If you want to imitate? You should not replicate this if your graphics card is still quite new, and you still have warranty on your card. Because as soon as you break the graphics card, the warranty goes out to your GPU.

However, very old graphics card has often already reached her end of life. The graphics cards are no longer produced.

However, if you have been to use your graphics card for years and the warranty has been extinguished for a long time, then it can be worthwhile to bolt the graphics card once and swap the thermal paste. The effort was around 30 minutes and the costs are absolutely limited.
